MARGUERITE

I didn't expect to like this anywhere near as much as I did, but I did. It's actually a very well-done film, both funny and sad and well-told with all sorts of little details like the squeals of the peacocks sounding like the squeals of wannabe-opera-star Marguerite. Word has it Hollywood is planning an Americanized version of this, starring Meryl Streep. Don't wait for that. See this. The French language and English subtitles won't hurt you. Enjoy it. It is great filmmaking. SCORE: 89.
