Here is a film that does live up to the proclamations of magnificence that the reviews offered. It is fantastic in every sense. Magical. Moving. Sad, tremendously sad. Tragic, in fact. But brilliant. With great storytelling. An Amazonian adventure, presented in black-and-white. The classic tale of the clash of European and aboriginal cultures. With the inevitable awful results. Wow. I had to go see this twice. You should see it at least once. SCORE: 96.
