Really hard to deal with. Nearly the whole movie has raindrops on glass superimposed on top of whatever's going on. Obvious tears. The whole movie is a public mourning of loss. (Probably Laurie Anderson losing her husband Lou Reed, who never appears in the film, but haunts every frame.) The brief segment on her terrier brought knowing nods and smiles to this viewer, who used to own a bull terrier. They are a special breed for sure. But the film itself was one of those endurance tests that once you've been through, you probably don't want to ever go through again.
