Like CAROL, set in 1952, and like CAROL, meticulously crafted to re-create the look and feel of that post-WWII era in New York. And Ireland. Unlike CAROL, this story has the protagonist do something ridiculously stupid 3/4 of the way through the movie, and you're like, wait, what? She does something that seemingly violates everything you thought she stood for up to that point. I don't know about the rest of the audience, but I totally turned on the protagonist at that point, and felt it ruined the movie. Maybe real world is like this. Fine. Crappy denouement though.
