THE IDOL

Based on a true story, it's a coming-of-age story of kids in Gaza who dream of being musicians and singers. The little girl who plays the sister of the kid singer is the best actor in the film. The starring character is determined to try out for the Arab Idol television talent show, and sneaks into Egypt from Gaza (very dangerous to do) to try out. Of course, he makes it. Then, comes weeks of competition. We know how the end is going to go. It's a true story. Not bad though.
